Film Premiere: A Gift for the Village

Thank you to everyone who came out on November 11 at 7:30 p.m. to see the Indiana premiere of this award-winning documentary film! We heard from videographer Tom Heaton about the remarkable story of years of friendship between a prominent Buddhist lama in Nepal and an American painter and teacher. In the film, a large oil painting is transported from the artist's studio in Virginia to a village in Nepal. The team is welcomed with an elaborate festival celebrating the artist, her work and the man it honors. "A Gift for the Village" documents the remarkable story of their trip, offering unprecedented access to a vanishing tradition.
