Rev. Howard E. Boles, Senior Pastor

Howard Boles began his appointment at Roberts Park on July 1, 2002.  Prior to that he served seven years as the Associate Minister at the Bloomington First United Methodist Church.  His first pastoral appointment was to three rural churches near Gosport, Indiana from 1991-1995. 

Howard enjoys reading and writing and has published a book of poems, entitled “The Treasure Man and Other Christmas Tales.”  He is an avid jogger and has participated in the Indianapolis Mini-marathon each year since 1992.  He enjoys bicycling as well as playing softball and handball. 

Howard and his wife Diane live downtown and have five children.  “We love the vitality of downtown.  Whether we're shopping and eating along Mass Ave or walking on the canal and jogging on the Monon Trail, there is a lot of energy and excitement in downtown Indianapolis.  This is a great time to be here, and I love the opportunities and challenges of urban ministry.”

Rev. Kimberly King, Associate Pastor

Kim King is a graduate of Christian Theological Seminary and Indiana Wesleyan University.  She holds Master of Divinity, Master of Marriage and Family Therapy, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degrees.

Kim joined the pastoral staff at Roberts Park in 2007.  She enjoys downtown ministry and believes “doing ministry in a developing urban setting holds possibilities for living into God’s vision of human diversity and creativity in spreading the Gospel message of Christ.”  Kim also counsels individuals, couples and families in private practice, where she works from a collaborative position that allows clients to explore life’s struggles to find opportunities for healing, growth and reaching their full God-given given potential.

Kim believes that creativity is one pathway to the divine.  She enjoys writing prayers, painting in watercolors, knitting and art journaling, gardening, and cooking.  She also finds pleasure in exploring the countryside with her husband, and spending time with family and friends.
